Have a few more questions about Parent Coaching? |
What is Parent Coaching?
A Parent Coach is a certified professional who can work by your side to create unique parenting strategies and techniques that align with your core values. A Parent Coach will help you understand the balance within your home in order to restore and strengthen the bonds and relationships within your family. Parent Coaching helps channel your inner confidence to ensure your parenting has direction and purpose.
Is a Parent Coach a Therapist?
A Parent Coach focuses on the present, everyday challenges and co-creates strategies and solutions with the client, and a therapist focuses on emotional healing and functionality. If at any time your needs would be better addressed with a therapist, I would refer you to the appropriate mental health provider.
Who would benefit from Parent Coaching?
Any and all parents would benefit from Parent Coaching. Parents-to-be, parents of infants, tots thru teens & young adults are welcome to participate in Parent Coaching. Parent Coaching can be helpful for families navigating issues such as divorce, adoption, single parenting, children with special needs, excessive screen time, and challenging behaviors.
How long until I see results?
An engaged client will begin to see changes as quickly as the first session. While the first three sessions set up a solid foundation for the future sessions, clients will build an awareness from the beginning which will result in positive changes.
Should I be coached alone or with my partner?
This is completely up to the family. I am happy to coach a single parent/caregiver or couples. Please contact me if you have interest in working as a group of four with friends or family sharing a similar concern or theme.
Does a Parent Coach work with my child/ren?
No, a Parent Coach works with parents and caregivers to navigate challenging dynamics. The coaching process empowers the parent/caregiver to make conscious parenting decisions that align with the family's core values.
What is the commitment?
The Parent Coaching process follows a framework that allows for discovery within the family system, creating a dream for the preferred future and designing a plan to attain that preferred future. Typically, clients will use 10-12 sessions to fulfill their wishes and feel prepared to move forward independently. Of course, this can be tailored to your needs. I am happy to discuss options with you.
